Civic Mornings – Wise Democracy with Tom Atlee

Wise Democracy:  Governance of the whole, by the whole

What would it look like if governance functions were based on including and integrating all the relevant people, perspectives and information about every situation and issue? What if accessing and engaging the concerns and life energy of the whole community and/or web of stakeholders was how we aspired to organize our collective affairs?  What would a governance system look like that focussed on questions such as these…?

  • Who else should be included?
  • What else needs to be taken into account?
  • How can we generate wise coherence out of the full spectrum of diversity?
  • How can everyone involved in the problem become creatively involved in the solution?

CivicMakers is honored to welcome Tom Atlee, founder of the Co-Intelligence Institute and author of The Tao of Democracy, Reflections on Evolutionary Activism, Participatory Sustainability and the Wise Democracy Pattern Language, for an intimate breakfast gathering. Join us for a broad and in-depth exploration of a radically different vision of what governance and change agentry are all about. Our hope is for you to see and share how this novel worldview sits with you and, from that standpoint, to share your experiences and ideas about what could help make that difference.

This event is part of our Civic Mornings series, a gathering of the civic tribe in the Bay Area and beyond, at Impact Hub San Francisco. We’ll have some coffee and simple breakfast snacks, please bring your hopes and visions for a wiser democracy!
