California Health & Human Services Innovation Lab

Client Need

California Health & Human Services’ newly-created Office of Innovation needed to give its cross-departmental team a deep dive into innovation methodologies in July, 2018. Having worked with CHHS previously on a service design project, the Office of Innovation solicited our input on both the overall design and facilitation of the trainings.

Our Approach

We designed and facilitated a two-day human-centered design training; one day on applying human-centered design to change management; and a day-long training where participants learned how to facilitate their own trainings. We are looking forward to working with the office again when they introduce their next cohort!

  1. Trained the first cohort of the new Innovation Office
  2. Co-creation of trainings to meet the specific needs of the Office
  3. Creation of tools, templates and techniques to build innovation capacity
