CivicMakers Online Community Gathering #2

Online gathering for CivicMakers’ community of friends, partners, clients and colleagues

On March 20 2020, the CivicMakers team hosted an online community gathering in order to create a (virtual) space for our friends, partners, clients and colleagues to collectively process the impacts that COVID-19 is having on our lives and our work. With 50 attendees, 5 breakout groups and 90 minutes, we dug deep into topics such as online engagement; team culture and cohesion; remote working pain points; turning crisis into a learning moment; and supporting health care workers on the frontlines. Here is a synthesis from all Breakout Groups and a list of resources mentioned on the call.

We were so enlivened, energized and inspired by the dynamic engagement that we’re doing it again!

Join us on Friday, April 3rd for our second Online Community Gathering as we explore various components of a major theme that has been coming up the past couple weeks:

  • What does “non-essential” mean in the time of COVID-19?
  • How are people who provide “non-essential” services using their time and prioritizing their tasks?
  • How might we envision a future where creation and collaboration lead to “essential” public service delivery?

We’ll explore other topics that emerge from the group, as well!
