The Inaugural CivicMakers Salon

We live in an age of broken politics, overwhelming civic cynicism, and vast disparities in wealth and justice. At the same time, grassroots interest in remaking democracy abounds, from the maturing open government movement to a proliferation of new civic engagement and empowerment platforms.

Now is the time for a new conversation about what kind of society we wish to live in, and what solutions will move us most quickly in that direction.

Join other creative, passionate people working at the intersection of democracy and technology to answer the questions “what does real democracy look like, and how can technology help us get there?” More salon than meetup, more world-changing than networking, CivicMakers is just like democracy…your participation is required.

Refreshments will be served. Open discussion starts at 6pm, facilitated group discussion with guest speaker at 7pm, breakout groups at 8pm.
